Sweden's Loreen has won the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time with her pop anthem "Tattoo". The UK's Mae Muller came in 25th place, one above bottom. Loreen is the second person and the first woman to win Eurovision twice, following Ireland's Johnny Logan.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has submitted an amicus brief in support of Coinbase's efforts to secure regulatory guidance on crypto assets from the SEC. Coinbase filed a motion in court in April to compel the SEC to respond to an earlier petition from the company requesting guidance for the crypto.

Cyclone Mocha, the equivalent of a category-five storm, is hitting the coastlines of Bangladesh and Myanmar, bringing heavy rain and winds of up to 195kph (120mph). Storm surges of up to four metres could swamp villages in low-lying areas. About 500,000 people have been evacuated to safer areas.

El Salvador has gone 365 days without a single homicide, thanks to the government's repressive policy against organized crime and violent groups. President Nayib Bukele announced the milestone on Twitter.

New Zealand has pledged $911m to help communities recover from a cyclone and floods that hit the country earlier this year. The funds from the 2023 budget will be used to rebuild roads, rail and schools, as well as flood protection.

Heavy fighting has continued in Sudan's capital, Khartoum, and other cities ahead of ceasefire talks on Sunday. The Sudanese army has reportedly pounded civilian areas, while the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has occupied civilian properties. Clashes were reported in Khartoum.
